Terms & Conditions
Last updated: March 24, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and the individual who operates the Spotify Voice AI browser extension (the "Extension"), doing business under the names AI Voice Music Search Services and Spotify Voice AI for convenience only (collectively, "we," "us," or "our").
Not a registered company. The Extension is offered as a private, personal initiative by an individual operator in Austin, Texas, United States. We are not presenting ourselves as a corporation, LLC, Ltd, Inc., or other registered legal entity unless separately stated in writing. Product and project names are not legal entity names. If you require a contract with a registered organization, verify the counterparty before paying.
By installing, accessing, or using the Extension, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy (including voice-related disclosures). If you do not agree, you must not install or use the Extension.
Technical details about HTTPS, TLS, cipher suites, and local extension storage appear in Section 8 (Data Security) of the Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Extension or by email where practicable. Your continued use of the Extension after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process (such as additional notice or explicit consent).
Legal disclaimer: These Terms are not legal advice. They are intended to set clear rules between you and the operator. No contract can guarantee that no one will ever assert a legal claim. We set limitations, arbitration, and governing law in good faith; mandatory consumer laws in your country may still apply.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Extension. You must also meet Spotify’s own age and account requirements (see Spotify’s terms).
2.1 Users under 13
You may not use the Extension if you are under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 as described in our Privacy Policy.
2.2 Users 13 and older
If you are 13 or older, you may use the Extension if you have the legal right and capacity to agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy under the laws that apply to you. If you are a minor (for example under 18 or under the age of majority where you live), you may need a parent or legal guardian to authorize paid subscriptions or payments for you, and some regions require a parent’s consent for teens to use online services—follow the rules in your jurisdiction.
2.3 United States (COPPA)
The U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to the online collection of personal information from children under 13. By requiring users to be 13+ and stating that we do not knowingly collect from children under 13, we aim to stay outside COPPA’s scope for the Extension’s own sign-up and use rules. These Terms are not legal advice. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 13 in violation of this policy, we will delete it as described in the Privacy Policy.
2.4 Other regions
In the EEA, UK, and other countries, additional rules may apply to users aged 13–17 (for example parental consent or a higher age for consenting to data processing). We do not guarantee compliance with every national law; if you are unsure, ask a parent or guardian or seek legal advice.
3. Description of Service and Relationship to Spotify
3.0 Spotify account required
To access or use the Extension, you must have and maintain a valid, registered, and active Spotify account, whether on Spotify’s free tier or a Spotify premium subscription. We are not responsible for the availability, functionality, status, suspension, or termination of your Spotify account, or for any change Spotify makes to its services, APIs, Web Player, or terms.
3.1 What we provide (voice capabilities only)
Spotify Voice AI is a browser extension that adds voice search and voice-driven controls so you can speak commands that are used to trigger searches and playback requests inside the Spotify Web Player (for example at open.spotify.com). We provide only this browser-based voice-assist layer and nothing more.
We do not provide music streaming, the Spotify music catalog, actual search results, recommendations, Spotify accounts, Spotify billing, or playback. Those come exclusively from Spotify’s services.
The Extension is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis.
3.2 What Spotify provides (all music and platform services)
All music, actual search results, streams, playlists, accounts, platform behavior, and related experiences are provided by Spotify and its affiliates through www.spotify.com, the Web Player at open.spotify.com, Spotify’s mobile and desktop apps, and other official Spotify-registered domains and properties, under Spotify’s own terms and privacy policy—not under these Terms.
3.3 Spotify group companies (informational; may change)
For identification only (Spotify’s corporate structure may change; check Spotify’s own disclosures):
Spotify Technology S.A. — the public holding company based in Luxembourg;
Spotify AB — the Swedish operating company;
Spotify USA Inc. — a primary United States subsidiary;
Spotify Ltd — the United Kingdom entity;
Spotify Canada Inc. — the Canadian entity.
3.4 No affiliation, agency, or partnership with Spotify
The Extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, operated by, or an official product of Spotify AB, Spotify Technology S.A., or any other Spotify company. We are not Spotify’s agent, employee, contractor, or support provider. Spotify® is a trademark of Spotify AB; our use of the name “Spotify” is nominative and descriptive only (to explain compatibility with Spotify’s publicly available web player) and does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
You agree that you will not assert against us that we are Spotify, are controlled by Spotify, or are responsible for Spotify’s services, search results, streams, or account issues.
3.5 Complaints, claims, and support—for Spotify services, contact Spotify
For any issue with Spotify’s platform—including search results, playback, streams, audio quality, missing content, playlists, your Spotify account, or billing with Spotify—your remedy and support channel is with Spotify via www.spotify.com and Spotify’s official support. Do not contact us expecting us to fix, explain, or compensate for Spotify’s service behavior. We cannot resolve Spotify-side problems.
3.6 Removing the Extension: default Spotify in your browser
You may uninstall the Extension at any time. After removal, you may continue to use the default Spotify Web Player in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or another supported browser as Spotify provides it, without our voice features. That experience is controlled solely by Spotify, not us.
3.7 No artificial intelligence or machine learning operated by us for search; "AI" is branding only
The product name Spotify Voice AI and phrases like "AI voice search" are branding and naming only. We do not operate artificial intelligence or machine learning that we own or control to perform, rank, score, or select Spotify search results or playback for you.
Non-misrepresentation. We do not claim that we replace or duplicate Spotify’s search engine. Your voice commands direct and initiate actions in the Web Player; Spotify’s systems execute the search and supply results and playback. What you see and hear after that—including search results and streams—comes from Spotify’s services and systems, which are separate from us and may use their own technologies under Spotify’s terms and policies.
We do not run generative AI or large language models for your music queries, and we do not train models on your voice for Extension search features. This section is here so users cannot reasonably claim we misled them about who runs search or what "AI" refers to in our product name.
3.8 Rule-based assistance (not our machine learning models)
Where the Extension interprets phrasing (for example to help route a request toward artists, albums, moods, or genres), that logic is implemented through rules, patterns, and keywords in the Extension code—not through machine learning models that we operate or host for that purpose. Spotify’s own systems may use technologies we do not control when executing search and playback.
4. Voice search, microphone access, local transcript, and network reliability
4.1 Consent to use your voice for music search
By using the Extension and by activating voice search, you consent to the Extension capturing and processing your voice input only so you can search for and request music-related content on the Spotify Web Player—including artists, songs, albums, genres, moods, playlists, and similar queries—and so those requests can be passed into Spotify’s interface for Spotify to execute search and playback.
This consent is essential to the voice feature. If you do not consent, you must not use voice search. You may withdraw this consent at any time by stopping use of voice search and, if you wish, uninstalling the Extension. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal, where applicable law so provides.
You may use Spotify without our Extension, or use the Extension without activating voice controls, where the product allows.
4.2 No training of our models; no voice storage on our backends
We do not use your voice, voiceprint, or speech patterns to train, fine-tune, or improve machine learning or artificial intelligence models for the Extension or our own products. We do not upload, store, or archive raw audio recordings of your voice on servers or databases we operate or control for speech recognition, voiceprinting, or analytics. We do not sell voice recordings or operate a voice biometric database. See the Privacy Policy for further detail.
4.3 Browser and operating-system speech services
Speech recognition may be performed by your browser and/or operating system and their vendors, which may process audio under their terms and privacy policies (including possible network-assisted recognition). We do not control those providers. Your relationship with them is separate from these Terms.
4.4 Microphone and voice commands (summary)
By using voice search, you consent to the Extension accessing the microphone when you activate voice controls (for example by using the in-page microphone control), solely to send voice commands that direct and control searches and playback requests on the Spotify Web Player, subject to Sections 4.1–4.3. The Extension’s manifest does not request a standalone microphone permission; capture is initiated in the context of the Web Player as described in the Privacy Policy.
4.5 Local transcript history
Recent recognized voice commands may be stored only on your device in extension storage to help with troubleshooting. There is no in-extension setting to turn this off. By installing and using the Extension, you agree to this local processing as described in our Privacy Policy and these Terms. This information is not transmitted to our servers.
4.6 Network connection, browser, and voice reliability
Voice features depend on your internet connection and on network and speech-related services used by your browser. We do not operate your ISP, Wi‑Fi, VPN, firewall, or your browser vendor’s infrastructure. Outages, errors, or differences between browsers (for example Microsoft Edge vs Google Chrome) are not always within our control. We work in good faith to support major browsers but do not guarantee identical behavior everywhere. If voice input is unreliable, try updating your browser, checking permissions and connectivity, and—if problems persist—using Google Chrome, which we use as our primary test and support browser. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for voice failures caused by networks, browser vendors, devices, or third-party services.
5. Accounts and Authentication
A Google account is required to access paid features, sync plan status, and manage billing.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account credentials.
Plan access is tied to your signed-in Google account and is verified against our backend systems.
6. Plans and Pricing
We offer Free, Basic, and Premium plans as described in the Extension. Plan labels that refer to “AI voice searches” are consistent with Section 3.7 (branding; we do not operate AI/ML for search). All prices are in United States Dollars (USD). Applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout.
Price changes. We may change plan prices for future subscription terms. If required by applicable law, we will give advance notice and/or obtain your consent before a new price takes effect. Renewal charges are at the then-current rate disclosed at or before checkout or renewal, except where law requires otherwise.
7. Subscription and Billing
Subscriptions are billed annually. Payment is processed through Stripe, Inc.
Renewal occurs automatically at the end of each billing year unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Failed or declined payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend or downgrade paid features until payment succeeds or the subscription ends, consistent with Stripe’s behavior and settings. You remain responsible for amounts owed for the period in which you had access, subject to applicable law.
7.1 Trials
Unless the Extension or checkout flow expressly offers a time-limited trial of a paid plan with its own terms, there is no separate free trial of paid features beyond what is described for the Free plan.
7.2 Auto-Renewal Disclosure (Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 611)
Your subscription will automatically renew for successive one-year terms at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
You may cancel your subscription at any time using the same method you used to subscribe (through the Extension's billing interface), or by contacting us through our Contact Us form on the Settings page or at support@voicesearchai.shop.
Cancellation stops future renewal billing. You retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
7.3 FTC Negative Option Rule Compliance
Material terms are disclosed before billing information is collected; affirmative consent is obtained before charges; cancellation is available within the Extension.
7.4 Electronic communications and records
You agree that we may provide notices, receipts, and subscription-related communications electronically (including via email, in-product messages, or the Stripe customer portal). You are responsible for keeping your contact information current.
8. Refund Policy
No grace-period refunds on subscription renewals (year two and later). The 7-day refund window below applies only to the start of your first paid yearly subscription term (your initial paid charge when you first become a paying subscriber). When your subscription renews—including the billing date for your second paid year or any later year—that renewal charge is not eligible for the same 7-day grace-period refund policy, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
8.1 Seven-day grace period (first paid year only)
The first 7 calendar days of your first paid yearly subscription term (starting from your initial paid purchase—not from a renewal billing date) are a grace period for refunds and certain plan changes, as shown in the Extension and Stripe billing portal.
The grace period does not apply to automatic renewals or to year two and beyond. If your subscription renews for an additional year (or you are in year two or later of a paid plan), charges for those renewal terms are not covered by the 7-day grace-period refund rules, except where required by law.
8.2 After the grace period; renewals
After the first 7 days of your first paid year, and for all renewal charges after the first year, refund, cancellation, downgrade, and upgrade behavior follows the policies disclosed in the Extension and in your Stripe billing portal.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not, and will not assist others to:
Bypass, manipulate, or interfere with plan limits, entitlements, billing, or authentication (including by using multiple accounts to evade limits);
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
Use the Extension to scrape, copy, or redistribute Spotify content in violation of Spotify’s terms or applicable law;
Use the Extension to harm, harass, or deceive others, or to transmit unlawful content;
Interfere with or disrupt the Extension, our backends, or third-party services (including by introducing malware or excessive automated traffic);
Use the Extension in violation of Spotify’s terms of use, Spotify’s developer or platform rules (if applicable), or any applicable law;
Remove, obscure, or alter any legal notices, branding, or proprietary markings in the Extension.
10. Intellectual Property; Third-Party Marks
All content and software of the Extension (other than third-party components used under license) are owned by the operator of the Extension (the individual offering this private initiative under the project names described in Section 1). You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Extension for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Third-party marks. All trademarks, service marks, and logos appearing in or around the Extension that are owned by third parties (including Spotify®, Google, and others) are the property of their respective owners. Use of such marks in these Terms or in the product is for identification and compatibility purposes only and does not imply endorsement.
11. Third-Party Services
The Extension relies on Spotify’s Web Player, your browser, your operating system, and (for accounts and billing) services such as Google, Stripe, and Supabase, as described in the Privacy Policy. Those services are independent; their terms, pricing, availability, and privacy practices are controlled by their providers. We are not responsible for third-party service outages, changes, or actions.
12. Changes to the Extension: Availability; Suspension
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Extension (including free or paid features) for operational, legal, security, or business reasons. Where required by law, we will provide notice or remedies. If Spotify changes its Web Player, APIs, or policies, parts of the Extension may stop working until we can reasonably adapt; we do not guarantee uninterrupted compatibility with Spotify.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES REGARDING SPOTIFY’S SERVICES, STREAMING, SEARCH RESULTS, OR CONTENT. THOSE ARE PROVIDED BY SPOTIFY UNDER SPOTIFY’S TERMS.
VOICE FEATURES MAY DEPEND ON YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION, YOUR DEVICE, AND YOUR BROWSER’S NETWORK AND SPEECH-RELATED SERVICES. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE VOICE INPUT IN EVERY ENVIRONMENT OR BROWSER. SEE SECTION 4.6.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT WE OPERATE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE OR MACHINE LEARNING TO PERFORM SPOTIFY’S SEARCH OR TO SELECT RESULTS; "AI" IN THE NAME IS BRANDING ONLY (SECTION 3.7).
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE EXTENSION OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR TEN UNITED STATES DOLLARS ($10.00), SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE LAW.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ISSUES ARISING FROM SPOTIFY’S PLATFORM, SEARCH, STREAMING, OR CONTENT; YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR SUCH ISSUES IS WITH SPOTIFY. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR VOICE OR SEARCH FAILURES CAUSED BY NETWORKS, BROWSER VENDORS, DEVICES, OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW (SEE SECTION 4.3).
15. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the operator of the Extension (and the operator’s licensors and service providers, solely as necessary to defend claims arising from your conduct) from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Extension, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim arises solely from the operator’s gross negligence or willful misconduct, where such exclusion is required by law.
16. Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) Disclosure
We are committed to transparent business practices. Nothing in these Terms waives rights you may have under the DTPA that cannot be waived by law.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, excluding conflict-of-law rules that would apply another jurisdiction’s law. Subject to Section 18.6, any action shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.
18. Dispute Resolution
18.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution proceeding, you agree to first contact us through our Contact Us form on the Settings page or at support@voicesearchai.shop and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 calendar days.
18.2 Binding Arbitration
Disputes may be resolved by binding arbitration under AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules, in Austin, Texas, except as required by law.
18.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND WE AGREE TO BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, NOT AS A CLASS MEMBER.
18.4 Small Claims Exception
Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court within jurisdictional limits.
18.5 Preservation of Statutory Rights
Nothing prevents you from contacting regulatory agencies where permitted by law.
18.6 Consumers in the EEA, UK, and other mandatory-law jurisdictions
If you are a consumer habitually resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose laws mandatorily apply despite a choice of foreign law or forum, then to the extent required by those laws: (a) you may have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence; (b) mandatory consumer protections in your country may apply; and (c) arbitration or class-action waiver provisions above may not apply to you in whole or in part. Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive you of those non-waivable rights. For privacy-related requests, you may also exercise rights described in our Privacy Policy.
19. Termination
You may uninstall the Extension at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to our backends, paid entitlements, or the Extension’s operation for violations of these Terms, non-payment where applicable, or as needed for security or legal compliance.
20. Export and Sanctions
You represent that you are not located in, ordinarily resident in, or using the Extension on behalf of any person or entity prohibited from receiving U.S. exports or subject to comprehensive sanctions, to your knowledge. You agree to comply with applicable export and sanctions laws. If you are in a jurisdiction where use of the Extension is prohibited, you must not use it.
21. Severability
If any provision is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect, and the invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable if possible.
22. Entire Agreement
These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement regarding the Extension and supersede prior understandings on the same subject matter.
23. Waiver
Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
24. Assignment
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or to an affiliate, provided your rights are not diminished except as permitted by law.
25. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, or shortages of transportation, facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials; failures of telecommunications or internet providers; or actions or omissions of Spotify or other third parties.
